1. Purchase new uniform

When it comes to buying your child's school uniform, there are a few key things you need to remember. Here are our top tips for making sure you get the best deal on their uniforms!

  • Shop around - It is important to shop around and compare prices before you buy your child's school uniforms. There can be a big difference in price between different stores, so it's worth checking out a few different places before you make your purchase.

  • Check the sale section - Many stores have a sale section where you can find discounted uniforms. If you're lucky, you may be able to get a whole set of uniforms for a fraction of the price.

  • Buy a few extras - When buying uniforms, consider adding a few extra items to your purchase. This ensures that your child will have spare items should anything happen to their uniform. For example, you could buy them two pairs of trousers or two skirts so they can alternate between the two and ensure they won't need to do their school uniform laundry every day.

  • Buy a big size for growing room - Buying a bigger size can be helpful, as it gives your child plenty of room to grow without you having to buy a new uniform every time they hit a growth spurt. However, make sure you take note of their current measurements so that when they grow out of the uniform, you'll know what size they need next year.

Are you having a hard time identifying which uniform belongs to your kids? Iron-on name labels can make it easier for you!

2. Where to find school shoes that fit

Finding the perfect school shoes can be a challenge, but it is important to make sure they fit well and are comfortable. With so many different options available, it is easy to find a pair of shoes that your child will love. Just remember to measure for length and width before shopping.

Department stores like Macy's or Sears usually have a wide variety of shoes from well-known brands. If your child wears a size 10 or larger, be sure to hit the wide width section as well. You can also find shoes that fit at mass-market retailers like Target or Walmart. Brand-name shoe stores like Aldo, Milano, and DSW also carry a wide range of sizes. If you have a little extra money to spend, specialty shoe stores like Stride Rite and Foot Locker often have shoes that fit better and last longer than those found at other stores. No matter where you go, it's important to make sure the shoe has rounded toes. Shoes like Sketchers, Keds, and other popular brands come in different shoe widths, so always make sure the shoe width is compatible with your kid's foot.

3. Books to get them inspired

From supporting their at-home learning in anticipation of the new term or simply motivating them to find books they'll cherish perusing, Waterstones and WHSmith have splendid racks loaded up with books, funnies, and reference books for all ages. You can also turn it into an exciting one, with colorful personalised name labels that goes with different Cartoon or Disney characters.

Waterstones have preschool picture books to assist little ones with setting up the new term, in addition to advisers for key stages close by assets for guardians.
